HMM Rail & Transit Project Honored with Bentley Award

Hatch Mott MacDonald’s Toronto York-Spadina Subway Extension Project recently won Bentley’s Be Inspired Award for Innovation in Rail and Transit. Presented at the Be Inspired awards dinner in Amsterdam, the award honors the $730 million project for its ability to “demonstrate innovation in the rail and transit lifecycle, ranging from data collection and design to maintenance and capital project planning.” The project included the design of a 6.7 km tunnel segment for an extension of the York-Spadina Subway in Toronto, as well as six stations. HMM achieved significant cost benefits through the strategic use of Bentley software in the project design.
