Fox Conference 2010 Set for NYC

The ninth annual George A. Fox Conference, sponsored by the Underground Construction Association of SME, is scheduled for Jan. 26, 2010. The theme of this year’s conference is “Tunnel Shaft Construction.” It will be held at the City University of New York’s Graduate Center.

The morning session will recap some of the major tunneling and underground construction project under way in the New York area, including a keynote presentation on “The Challenges of Tunneling in New York City,” by Dr. Michael Horodniceanu, president of MTA Capital Construction.

Following lunch, the focus turns to shaft construction using case histories from across the country, including New York, Las Vegas, Seattle, Boston and Kentucky. For more information or to register, visit www.uca.smenet.org.
