Senior Resident Engineers - Abu Dhabi, UAE
CH2M HILL is seeking Senior Resident Engineers to administer tunnel and micro-tunnel contracts in the UAE. The contracts are part of the STEP programme in Abu Dhabi which comprises 40km of 6m diameter deep tunnels, a 90m deep pumping station, and 50km of shallower link sewers, up to 4m diameter. The tunnels will be driven by EPB machines, with segmental lining, and will be finished with a secondary HDPE liner. The link sewers will be constructed primarily with micro-tunneling methods. Completion of the programme is expected in 2014. Individual construction contracts are in the order of US$200 million.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should have 15 years experience in underground construction, with 5 years as a construction manager or resident engineer for a consulting engineer or as a project manager for a contractor on a large tunnel project.
- A bachelor's degree in civil/mining engineering or related field is required and professional registration is preferred.
- Good communication skills and cultural awareness are essential.

Design Build Construction Management Services
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT or STATE) requests the submittal of Qualifications Statements and Technical Proposals for the performance of professional construction management services for the Alaskan Way Viaduct SR 99 Bored Tunnel Alternative Design-Build Project. One Agreement for approximately five years and approximately $11M may be awarded. At any time additional work may be necessary. At WSDOT’s option, the contract may be extended for additional time and/or money.
