The principal function of this position is to:
- Lead a team of underground engineers in the pursuit of the ARC tunneling design-build project
- Help build an effective in-house NOAM regional capability
- Work with our existing team on other pursuits.
The priorities of this role include:
- Responsible for representing company at various meetings with our consulting and construction partners.
- Leading the delivery of large-scale underground design projects.
- Responsible for management of a multi-disciplinary team of 10-15+ design engineers.
Requirements:
- Working as part of a design-build team
- Building and managing a diverse team of in-house underground design professionals
- Successful completion of design-build projects
- Knowledge of the US underground market a plus
- Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams including engineers from skill sets outside of tunneling
- Experience of a variety of tunneling techniques, such as TBM, NATM and cut & cover preferred.
- PE licensed preferred
- 5-15 years of relevant underground engineering experience

As a Tunnel Engineer in our Sonora office, tasks will involve evaluating geotechnical foundation, slope and tunneling conditions, tunnel liner and portal design, tunnel construction management, and materials testing. In this position you will perform feasibility, design, field engineering, and construction management services on a variety of projects. The majority of our work is based in Central and Northern California. Condor is a leader in the geotechnical/geological evaluation and design of small to medium sized tunnel projects including over 90 wine cave projects in the Napa, Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, Central Coast, and Sierra-Central Valley regions.
Candidates interested in this position should have a minimum of 5 years experience with a Bachelor™s or Master™s degree in civil or geological engineering. Current California P.E. registration is required or the ability to obtain a California license within one year of employment.
