Contract No. NZTA CA3466 Waterview Connection Tunnels and Great North Road Interchange Registration of Interest

NZ Transport Agency is seeking registrations of interest from suitably qualified and experienced consortia to deliver the design and construction of the Waterview Connection Tunnels and Great North Road Interchange project under an Alliance model.

This project is located in inner Auckland and conceptually consists of 2.1km long twin tunnels, a 450m long cut and cover tunnel, portal works and a motorway to motorway interchange comprised of four viaducts totalling 1.8km in length. The project fits within the wider Western Ring Route project portfolio with other works packages to be tendered as separate contracts, including a major widening and reclamation package.

The project will be procured as a Competitive Alliance, with proposals evaluated on the basis of non-price attributes, conceptual design and target out-turn cost. NZTA intends entering into an alliance agreement with the successful consortia to deliver the project on a shared risk basis.
It is likely that a combination of international construction expertise and local knowledge will be required to successfully deliver the project to meet NZTA’s expectations.

A meeting to discuss the project and commence the competitive procurement process will be held in Auckland on 4 August 2010. Major constructors and designers are invited to register their interest to deliver the project by submitting a single page letter in response to this advertisement, advising company/consortium and contact details.
